Greetings,
I voted "Vedic" because this is the only House system I know. Forgive my ignorance!

I prefer Placidus as well. I find a lot of Traditional authors used it too (probably because the Tables of Houses they worked from were in that system).

Ruby,
What about Placidus didnt you like?
What about Equal do you like?
I noticed a lot of people use Regiomontanus for Horary as well (Classical and Modern authors). _________________ http://antiquus.50webs.com/ |

I envy your studying of Vedic astrology Denis. From various articles I’ve read it sounds a fascinating subject.
However, western astrology is more than enough for me to cope with in this life-time!

I can't pretend to understand the intricacies of the different house systems.
All I can say is that I feel 'comfortable' with Equal. In my own natal chart (as well as others) the planets conjuncting angles and cusps are pretty convincing, whereas using Placidus this is not so.
I am beginning to realise that people use different house systems to see different things in a chart.
For instance I've read that the Koch system enables some to focus on the mental and psychological level of individuals.
Now this is something I'd find pretty interesting. Have used Koch for horaries in the past but haven't ever thought of using it with natal charts, must give it a try.

Ruby,
Thats interesting, I have yet to see any comprehensive material that talks about the House systems in detail. Its quite a rare subject to find. I guess most authors tweeked certian systems and believed that their system was more accurate of the placement of the Houses and published that. But other then that I see no real data behind it. Would you happen to have any links with regards to that? Or anyone else here happen to? Thanks for explaining.
