Can you post the chart for us? Im a visual person and its a lot easier to picture, a picture Wink .

First, did you check to see if this chart was Radical? This is important to first check this. If it is, usually the Querent or the one the Question is asking about is the 1st House (in this case your mother would be represented by the Ascendant since you are askng on her behalf).

Secondly, 2nd House of course, moveable goods as you have stated. Is there any aspect betweent he Ascendant, Lordof the Ascendant, and Lord of the 2nd House (The Sun?) this would place the connection between your mom and this specific item (im assuming its Gold).

The 4th can show "ends" to matters as well. I find the 4th House rules over "Houses" rather then "Homes" if that makes sense. The 4th also rules over fathers, estates & etc. The Sun, being also the Ruler of Fathers, may be pointing you simply to the Fathers House? Or someone of age. The Fourth House is also rules over the North. However if her Father is not alive, it may indicate inheritance of the pendant?

These are all things to consider, however first, check to see if the chart is radical. If not we are spinning our gears.

OH! I see (thanks for posting the chart, makes it a lot easier) now that you meant the MOON was in the 4th House not the Sun (in your post it looks as though you said the Sun was there).

Okay so how to analyze this. First I think its smart to look at who the Ascendant and its Lord is (Libra/Venus), shes in the 12th but well dignified although burnt under the rays of the Sun and in conjunction with the South Node. You being the asker of the question (as you said you were the one who wanted to know and are not asking on your moms behalf) this should represent you.

Now to the second House to see the Pendant, it being Scorpio which is usually the denoter of things "hidden", specifically "secrets". Its Lord is in the 1st conjunct your Ascendant.

There was something about the chart that was bothering me and I figured out why.

Question : Why do you consider the Sun to represent your mothers pendant?

I see that you considered the 2nd House being moveable Goods to represent the item in question, being in Leo and representing the Sun and therefore Gold and its Royal association fit.

But did you consider the fact that it is an ornament? That it technically is ruled by Venus and Libra? Which would fit perfect with the Question and therefore with the Ascendant. Ornaments and jewelry are rulers of the 5th House, not the second. While the second does rule moveable goods and technically anything thats not bolted down can be considered "moveable goods" it was mainly considered to be things like silverwear and such, however jewelry was specific to the 5th House not the 2nd. That is definately something to reconsider here. Let me know what you think
